What’s Going on in River Vale?

December 5, 2008

River Vale is a wonderful town located in the Northern section of the Pascack Valley region of Bergen County.  With wonderful homes adorning the tree covered streets and small town charm (parades, festivals, “movie nights” & more!) filling the charming atmosphere, this is an incredible town to reside in.

Here are some examples of River Vale’s charm!

Free Basketball Tickets!  The town of River Vale is giving away free professional basketball tickets to its Residents.  The tickets are limited and they’re first come, first serve, so be sure to visit the town website and find out how you can get your tickets!

It’s the Holiday Season!  In the giving mood?  The PBA Toy Drive to Benefit Tomorrow’s Children would like to encourage any interested River Vale residents to drop off new, unwrapped toys to the River Vale Police Head Quarters located on River Vale Road.

Casino Night! – Coming in January, the Residents for a Better River Vale will be hosting a Casino Night.  Visit the town website for more information!

A Beautiful Yard

December 2, 2008

In many instances, sellers wait until they are about to put their home on the market before they put energy and attention into improving their home’s landscaping.  As a result, in an attempt to create some instant curb appeal, a professional landscaper is called in the 11th hour and the seller ends up spending more money on landscaping than originally necessary.

So why wait until you think about moving to enhance your home’s curb appeal?  Even if a big project isn’t what you’re looking for, planting a few new bushes or bulbs each year (perhaps ones that bloom at different times and also don’t need a great deal of looking after!) can offer a few benefits. Obviously you’ll be able to enjoy a better looking landscape, but you’ll also profit more from your sale if you haven’t invested a great deal of money just prior to the transaction.  Furthermore, good looking lawns tend to increase the real estate values in the entire neighborhood, which can result in an increase in your home equity!
